Cyber Regulation Advisory Committee recommends to issue guidelines for clarifications on section 66A & 79

New Delhi: A meeting of the Cyber Regulation Advisory Committee was held today (29.11.2012) under the chairmanship of Shri Kapil Sibal, Union Minister of Communication and Information Technology to discuss the issues related to the Information Technology Act, 2000. This meeting was attended by representatives of Government, Intermediaries, Industry Associations as well as Members of civil society.

Bangalore: The largest conference for technical women in India, GRACE HOPPER CELEBRATION of WOMEN in COMPUTING INDIA is presenting its first ever Hackathon for Women in collaboration with ThoughtWorks Social Impact Program and Yahoo. The Hackathon will be held on December 12th, 2012, from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM at the Lalit Ashok Hotel in Bangalore. It will provide women participants a platform to collaborate and to write code on Free and Open Source Software (FOSS), contributing to humanitarian projects.

New Delhi : Union Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Sh. Sachin Pilot today reviewed connectivity related issues in the border areas of Jammu and Kashmir at Poonch. Officials from the State Government, Ministry of Home Affairs, Army, BSNL, Department of Telecom and others were present.

This is second review by the Minister in the last few months in view of the sensitivity of the area and the high priority the Government attaches to development of telecom facilities in the region.
