ISACA and IDRBT Recognize Outstanding IT Risk Management Programs

Hyderabad : Global IT association ISACA and the Institute for Development & Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT), India, have issued the Award for Managing IT Risk to three deserving banks at the IDRBT Banking Technology Excellence Awards Ceremony. The winner in the large bank category is ICICI Bank, and the winners in the small bank category are Karur Vysya Bank and South Indian Bank.

The winners were selected for their effective network and security architectures, and comprehensive policies and procedures.

Hacking in Eastern Naval Command, Visakhapatnam

New Delhi: Defence Minister Shri AK Antony informed Rajya Sabha today in a written reply that There were intelligence reports in November 2011 about probable compromise of computers of Eastern Naval Command based in Visakhapatnam. The matter has been investigated and appropriate steps have been taken to strengthen security of network, he added.

The Hack is Back: Yahoo!'s Open Hack completes 5 years in India

Bengaluru: Yahoo! India Research & Development today announced the fifth edition of Open Hack in India, which will take place on August 11- 12 in Bangalore. Over the years, Yahoo!'s Open Hack Day has turned into a calendar event for the developer community, with new registration records set each year. Over 2,000 developers have registered this year, of which around 700 developers from 20 states across India have been accepted for the event.

TRAI Directs Telecom Service Providers to Provide Adequate Information to Broadband Consumers

New Delhi: In order to ensure transparency in delivery of broadband services and to protect interests of consumers in the telecom sector, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) today issued directions to telecom service providers for delivering broadband services in a transparent manner by providing adequate information to the broadband consumers about various plans and Fair Usage Policy (FUP).

Nagpur : The union Minister of Commerce, Industry and Textiles, Shri Anand Sharma today inaugurated the National Institute of Intellectual Property Management (NIIPM) building at Nagpur and named it “Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Intellectual Property Management”. “Rajiv Gandhi was a great believer of innovation and technology and he was the one who laid the foundations of the information age in India. The Institute which we are inaugurating today was a missing link in our national landscape.
