Cyber Crime cases increased by 89.9% in 2010 as compared to 2009

New Delih: National Crime Records Bureau has published “Crime In India-2010” today. Crime in India is a compilation and analysis of crime statistics on various types of crimes which had taken place in that year in India. Crime In India-2010 includes following Snapshots on Cyber Crimes.-Cyber Crimes (IT Act + IPC Sections) has increased by 89.9% in 2010 as compared to 2009 (from 696 in 2009 to 1,322 in 2010).-Cyber Forgery 52.8% (188 out of total 356) and Cyber Fraud 41% (146 out of 356) were the main cases under IPC category for Cyber Crimes.

New Delhi: The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh addressed the Combined Commanders Conference of the Indian Armed Forces in New Delhi today. Highlighting improved capabilities of terrorists, PM Said "We have a long history in fighting terrorism. Today terrorist groups are highly networked, nimble footed and more lethal. This calls for appropriate responses. Cyber threats are emerging as a major source of worry. Cyber and information warfare could qualitatively change the concept of a battlefield.
