E-waste expected to increase to 8.00 lakh Metric Tons by 2012 - CPCB Survey

New Delhi: Based on a survey carried out by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), it is estimated that 1.47 lakh Metric Tons (MT) of e-waste was generated in the country in the year 2005, which is expected to increase to about 8.00 lakh MT by 2012. The Minister of state (I/C) for Environment and Forests Smt. Jayanthi Natarajan stated this in Rajya Sabha today.

E-Court Mission Mode Project: Computerization of 14,249 Courts in India

New Delhi: The e-Court Mission Mode project is being implemented as part of the National e-Governance plan. The project envisages computerization of 14,249 district and subordinate courts and upgradation of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure of the Supreme Court and the State High Courts in the country except Delhi High Court which was already enabled with updated hardware.
