New Delhi: Based on a survey carried out by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), it is estimated that 1.47 lakh Metric Tons (MT) of e-waste was generated in the country in the year 2005, which is expected to increase to about 8.00 lakh MT by 2012. The Minister of state (I/C) for Environment and Forests Smt. Jayanthi Natarajan stated this in Rajya Sabha today.
New Delhi: TRAI today issued the Standards of Quality of Service of Basic Telephone Service (wireline) and Cellular Mobile Telephone Service (Amendment) Regulations, 2012,laying down the network related Quality of Service standards for the 3G Networks covering voice calls.
New Delhi: The Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) has notified the Hazardous Wastes (Management, Handling and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2008, for proper management and handling of hazardous wastes in the country.
New Delhi: The e-Court Mission Mode project is being implemented as part of the National e-Governance plan. The project envisages computerization of 14,249 district and subordinate courts and upgradation of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure of the Supreme Court and the State High Courts in the country except Delhi High Court which was already enabled with updated hardware.
New Delhi: The Government today informed that as per the self certifications submitted by telecom service providers, and sample checks conducted by the DoT, the existing level of electromagnetic radiation from mobile towers in the country is within the prescribed limits.
