The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched a new SupTech initiative named “दक्ष (DAKSH) - Reserve Bank’s Advanced Supervisory Monitoring System”, aimed at strengthening supervisory processes and improving compliance monitoring in banks, NBFCs, and other supervised entities. The launch was announced by Shri Shaktikanta Das, Governor of RBI.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹20 lakh on Vasai Vikas Sahakari Bank Ltd., Vasai, Maharashtra, following an order dated September 29, 2022, for non-compliance with RBI directions on fraud monitoring and reporting mechanisms. The penalty was imposed under the powers vested in RBI under Section 47 A (1)(c) read with Sections 46(4)(i) and 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹1.00 lakh on Balitikuri Cooperative Bank Ltd., Balitikuri, West Bengal, for non-compliance with its Know Your Customer (KYC) guidelines. This action has been taken under the powers conferred by Section 47 A (1) (c) read with Section 46 (4) (i) and Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949. The penalty addresses deficiencies in regulatory compliance and is not intended to comment on the validity of any transactions carried out by the bank with its customers.

MANI App Introduces Multi-Lingual Audio Notification for Visually Impaired Users

The Mobile Aided Note Identifier (MANI) App, launched on January 1, 2020, assists visually impaired persons in identifying the denomination of Indian banknotes through audio notifications in Hindi and English.

In a recent update, the app has expanded its accessibility by adding 11 additional languages for audio notification: Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
