IPO Introduce New Payment Gateway Integrated to e-Filing System

New Delhi : Amitabh Kant, Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India inaugurated a new office building constructed for the Intellectual Property Office of India in New Delhi on September 8, 2014. The building is dedicated to the functioning of the Indian Patent Office as International Searching Authority (ISA) and International Preliminary Examining Authority (IPEA) under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).

New Delhi : The Cabinet today at the meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi gave its approval for Digital India – A programme to transform India into digital empowered society and knowledge economy. This is a follow up to the key decisions taken on the design of the programme during the meeting of the Prime Minister on Digital India Programme on August 7, 2014, and to sensitize all ministries to this vast programme touching every corner of the government.

Income Tax Department issues advisory to tax payers against phishing mail

New Delhi : Information has been received from several quarters that emails are being received by taxpayers claiming to be sent by the Income Tax Department asking the taxpayers to download file containing payable tax details. Such phishing mails are being sent from email addresses like "incometaxindia.gov.india@gmail.com".

Online business transactions are covered under Consumer Protection Act

New Delhi : Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Raosaheb Patil Danve in a written reply to a question informed Lok Sabha that, all business transaction by consumers, whether online or otherwise, is covered under Consumer Protection Act, 1986 and complainants can approach various Consumer Fora i.e. District Consumer Forum, State Commission and National Commission for resolution of their grievances. However, there is no separate mechanism for addressing grievances relating to online business under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986.[PIB]
