Election Commission of India (ECI) to use Smart Technology in upcoming elections; makes available mobile app to report violation of Model Code of Conduct

New Delhi : Election Commission of India (ECI) yesterday announced schedule for Lok Sabha Elections 2019. In a media release, ECI announced use of ICT and Mobile applications for improvement in overall efficiency of various election activities, in addition to enhancing the election system.
 
ECI has made available following Mobile Applications and Web Applications along with Help Line for Citizens, Candidate and Political Parties:

Reserve Bank of India imposes monetary penalty on 36 banks for non-compliance of its directions on SWIFT-related operational controls

Mumbai : According to a press release from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), it has imposed, by orders dated January 31, 2019 and February 25, 2019, monetary penalty for non-compliance with various directions issued by RBI on time-bound implementation and strengthening of SWIFT-related operational controls on 36 banks as detailed below:

NABL launches Quality Assurance Scheme for Basic Composite Medical Laboratories

New Delhi : For sensitizing small laboratories to basic doable quality practices, NABL has launched another voluntary scheme called Quality Assurance Scheme (QAS) for Basic Composite (BC) Medical Laboratories (Entry Level) in February, 2019. The laboratories performing only basic routine tests like blood glucose, blood counts, rapid tests for common infections, liver & kidney function tests and routine tests of urine will be eligible to apply under this scheme.
