The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the launch of its third global hackathon, HaRBInger 2024 – Innovation for Transformation, aimed at encouraging innovative solutions in the financial technology sector.
The hackathon will focus on two major themes: “Zero Financial Frauds”, which seeks solutions for real-time fraud detection, prevention, and secure token-based transactions, and “Being Divyang Friendly”, aimed at helping visually impaired individuals accurately identify banknotes.
Winners stand to receive prizes of up to ₹40 lakh per problem statement, with a special ₹20 lakh prize for the best all-woman team. Teams shortlisted for prototype development will also receive a stipend of ₹5 lakh.
Registration for HaRBInger 2024 opens on June 7, 2024, providing participants the opportunity to be mentored by industry experts and present their solutions to an eminent jury.
