RBI Governor Lays Foundation Stone for New Greenfield Data Centre and Cybersecurity Training Institute in Bhubaneswar

Shri Shaktikanta Das, Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), today laid the foundation stone for a “Greenfield Data Centre” and “Enterprise Computing & Cybersecurity Training Institute” in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor emphasized the critical role of technology in supporting the financial sector and RBI’s operations, particularly in facilitating a resilient recovery post-pandemic. He highlighted the importance of augmenting RBI’s computing infrastructure and establishing cutting-edge facilities for research, training, and capacity building in emerging areas spanning central banking, technology, and cybersecurity, ensuring a future-ready RBI.

Spread over 18.55 acres, the new Data Centre and Training Institute, once commissioned, will support the growing technological and operational requirements of the Reserve Bank and the financial sector.

The event was attended by senior officials from the Government of Odisha, including the Chief Secretary, along with senior bankers and RBI officials.

This initiative aligns with RBI’s broader vision of strengthening technology and cybersecurity capabilities in the financial system, promoting efficiency, safety, and innovation.
