BIS to Develop International Standard for BPO Services

New Delhi: Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has taken initiative for developing an international standard related to IT enabled business process outsourcing. This will ensure that we continue to retain the place of prominence that we have reached in the BPO sector through quality service to international clientele without compromise. This was stated by Prof. K.V. Thomas minister of consumer affairs, food & public distribution at the function to present “Rajiv Gandhi national quality awards 2010” on here today.

NDMA Organizes National Workshop of Secretaries of Disaster Management

New Delhi: The National Workshop of Principal Secretaries/ Secretaries of Disaster Management Department of all States/ UTs on Best Practices in Disaster Management and Role of Science and Technology in Early Warning and Forecasting of Disasters was held in New Delhi today. Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman, NDMA Shri Shashidhar Reddy said that we should stop thinking in terms of incremental increases when it comes to upgrading our observational capabilities. We need to assess our final requirements, set a deadline and start working backward.
