ICMR initiates Study on Adverse Effect of Mobile Phones on Humans

New Delhi: The Minister of State for Communications & Information Technology Shri Milind Deora informed the Rajya Sabha today in a written reply that the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has initiated a study in Delhi & NCR to study the adverse effects of radio frequency radiation emitted from Cell Phones.

New Delhi: The Minister of State for Communications & Information Technology Shri Milind Deora informed Lok Sabha in a written reply yesterday that the Government’s Preferential Market Access (PMA) policy does not per se mandate preference to any electronic product. It only provides an enabling framework and is therefore consistent with India’s WTO commitments. The Government has notified the policy for providing preference to domestically manufactured electronic products in procurement due to security considerations.

Mumbai: Gunnebo India Private Limited, a subsidiary of Gunnebo AB Group, Sweden one the leading suppliers of integrated security solutions have recently acquired licenses from a national Standards Body Bureau of Indian Standards, Government of India for its Minimax brand of Fire Extinguishers. Gunnebo is the first company in India to receive this license post of new standards for fire extinguishers viz; IS: 15683, starting this year by replacing the old standards.
