CCPWC for addressing the complaints of online harassment of women

New Delhi : Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Dr Virendra Kumar in a written reply to a question in Parliament today stated that

Complaints received in National Commission for Women and closed under category of Cybercrime against women during last four years are as under:

Year 2014 Received 209 Closed 53
Year 2015 Received 223 Closed 86
Year 2016 Received 311 Closed 119
Year 2017 Received 370 Closed 250

As per laid down procedure these complaints are taken up with concerned authorities including police authorities.

Cyber Security initiatives from Government

New Delhi : Government has taken a number of legislative, technical and institutional measures for addressing issues related to cyber security. These include National Cyber Security policy (2013), enactment of Information Technology (IT) Act, 2000 and setting up of Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In). New Delhi : Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in association with Cyber Peace Foundation and Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) organised a conference on Cyber Security – Challenges and Innovations at DRDO Bhawan here today. Cyber Crime Prevention against Women and Children (CCPWC) portal to check objectionable online content

New Delhi : Union Home Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh here today launched two separate portals to strengthen Women Safety. The portal “cybercrime.gov.in” will receive complaints from citizens on objectionable online content related to child pornography, child sexual abuse material, sexually explicit material such as rape and gang rape.

The National Database on Sexual Offenders (NDSO), which is accessible only to law enforcement agencies, will assist in effectively tracking and investigating cases of sexual offences.

Union Home Secretary launches ‘e-Sahaj’ portal for grant of Security Clearance

New Delhi : The Union Home Secretary Shri Rajiv Gauba launched an online ‘e-Sahaj’ portal here today for grant of Security Clearance. The portal will facilitate an applicant to submit application online and also to view the status of his application from time to time.

Speaking on the occasion, the Union Home Secretary said that with the introduction of online portal, the process has become standardized, resulting in a process which will be faster, transparent and easy to monitor. Various functionaries can access the application and documents online and take timely decisions.
