Cinematograph (Amendment) Bill, 2019 introduced in Rajya Sabha

New Delhi :  As per release from Government, The Cinematograph (Amendment) Bill 2019 was introduced in Rajya Sabha on 12th Feb 2019. The Bill seeks to amend provisions of Cinematograph Act, 1952 in order to tackle film piracy by including penal provisions for unauthorized camcording and duplication of films.

Guidelines on re-use of Medical Devices

New Delhi : The Government of India has enacted the Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Act, 2010 and notified Clinical Establishments (Central Government) Rules, 2012 for registration of Clinical Establishments with a view to prescribing the Minimum Standards of facilities and services provided by them. Under the said Act, the National Council for clinical establishments has approved Minimum Standards for different levels of Hospitals.

Special National Standards Conclave Held in Mumbai

Mumbai : A Special National Standards Conclave was organized by the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India on February 8-9 in Mumbai, in association with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Export Inspection Council (EIC), Centre for Research in International Trade (CRIT) and National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB). Commerce Secretary, Shri Anup Wadhawan inaugurated the conclave. 

Reserve Bank of India imposes monetary penalty on HDFC, IDBI & Kotak Banks

Mumbai : As per press release from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), it has imposed, by orders dated February 04, 2019, monetary penalty for non-compliance with various directions issued by RBI on Know Your Customer (KYC) norms / Anti-Money Laundering (AML) standards, more specifically those contained in circulars dated November 29, 2004 and May 22, 2008, on three banks as indicated below:

Reserve Bank of India imposes monetary penalty on Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Bank of Maharashtra and Indian Overseas Bank

Mumbai : As per press release from The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), it has imposed, by orders dated January 31, 2019, monetary penalty for non-compliance with various directions issued by RBI on monitoring of end use of funds, exchange of information with other banks, classification and reporting of frauds, and on restructuring of accounts, on four banks as detailed below:
